Ever feel like you love everything on Pinterest but can’t pin down your actual style? This interior design style quiz is for you. I created it to help you figure out if you lean traditional, transitional, or modern — so you can decorate with confidence (without second-guessing every pillow). Figuring out your interior design style can feel confusing, especially when you like a little bit of everything (same). But after making plenty of design mistakes, I’ve realized that having a clear direction makes the whole process so much easier — and more fun.
This post isn’t about following strict design rules or trying to copy what you see on Pinterest. It’s about helping you get clear on what styles actually speak to you, so you can create a home that feels like you — not just a mash-up of trends.

Why Knowing Your Design Style Matters
Before I figured out my own style, I kept buying things that looked pretty online, but didn’t work once I got them home. Sound familiar? I’d repaint, rearrange, and still feel like the room was off. Once I got more intentional and narrowed down my style (or combo of styles), everything started to fall into place — from paint colors to hardware to furniture.
Knowing your style gives you a filter. It helps you say no to random impulse buys and yes to the things that will actually work in your space long-term.
Take the Interior Design Style Quiz
To make this part easier, I made a quick quiz to help you get started. It’s not scientific or official, just something I created based on how I’ve seen design styles show up in real homes — including my own.
Once you take the quiz, you’ll get one of three results: Traditional, Transitional, or Modern — or a mix of them, because real life isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Quiz Results Breakdown
If you got mostly A’s, your style is Traditional—think timeless design, classic furniture, warm wood tones, and cozy, layered spaces that feel lived-in and elegant. You’re drawn to symmetry, details, and decor that tells a story.
If you got mostly B’s, you’re all about Transitional style. You like a little bit of everything—a perfect blend of old and new. Your home probably features clean lines with soft curves, neutral colors, and a balance of classic and contemporary pieces.
If you got mostly C’s, your style is Modern. You love minimalism, bold shapes, clean lines, and an uncluttered aesthetic. Your spaces are likely sleek and functional, with a focus on form and simplicity.
