Storage & Organization Ideas | Boy’s Bedrooms

Lately, I’ve been tackling organization ideas in my boys’ bedrooms, and this quick DIY ended up being one of those simple wins that makes a space feel more finished — without buying anything new.

Quick and Easy DIY

I already had a basic coat rack, so I mounted it on the wall to organize baseball hats and display my son’s medals. It instantly cleared up clutter. Which is always the goal when you’re looking for kids room storage ideas that actually work.

Getting Creative

Once it was up, the wall still felt a little bare. I dug out a floating frame that had been sitting in a closet and printed a few action photos to add above the rack. While putting it together, I cracked the back piece of glass (not my proudest moment). Instead of scrapping the frame, I taped the photos directly to the backing using small pieces of vinyl — similar to old-school photo corners.

This ended up being a cute, quick, and completely free DIY that keeps things organized. And it’s easy to adapt for other spaces too.

Honestly? It turned out better than planned. The photos are easy to swap out, which makes this setup flexible as interests change — a small win when you’re thinking long-term about organizing tips for children’s rooms.

How to Get the Look

I’ve linked similar versions of the coat rack and floating frame below if you want to recreate this setup.
